Finally, it was time for the heated match between Fittja IF and Älta IF, two teams that both had something to play for. At Fittja BP 1, 160 eager football enthusiasts gathered to see which team would claim victory in the thrilling Division 4 match.
Referee Eshaq Ayobi blew the whistle to start the match, and it was a fired-up Fittja that started the best. However, it didn’t take long before the first warning was issued to Fittja’s number 10, Jonathan Alexis Escalona Opazo, and this would prove to be the starting point for a series of warnings against the home team. The visiting team Älta also received a warning when number 7, Philip Ringbom, attracted the referee’s displeasure.
The match featured several intense duels, and it was Älta that eventually earned a penalty. Kasper Kajermo stepped up and calmly put the ball in the net – Älta’s first goal of the day and Kasper Kajermo's 5th of the season.
Fittja, however, did not let themselves be discouraged and fought on. Just before the halftime break, Jonathan Alexis Escalona Opazo managed to equalize to 1-1 in front of a jubilant crowd.
The second half continued with intense play from both teams. It was Fittja that took the lead first, with a goal from Giovani Da Silva Rosa in the 64th minute. The crowd in Fittja’s corner celebrated, believing the match would now be decided.
But it would take until the 84th minute before Älta struck back, with Waldo Shelton Torres making it 2-2. This was followed by a period of many warnings, both for Fittja and for Älta.
In the final minutes of the match, things got really dramatic when Philip Ringbom scored his second goal of the day, putting Älta ahead 3-2. Fittja had little time to mount a final push, and the match ended in victory for Älta.
Finally, the breakthrough came for Älta, who have now won seven consecutive matches in Division 4. Fittja, on the other hand, will have to lick their wounds after yet another tough loss at home. Referee Eshaq Ayobi and his assistants Roy Khazzaka and Ramazan Bekir Ekici officiated a tough but fair match, with Älta ultimately coming out on top.
