Forshaga IF continue their dominance in Division 4 Värmland after a 0-2 win over IFK Kristinehamn at Sannavallen. The visitors came flying out of the blocks and had two early chances to take the lead, but they were both denied by the home team's goalkeeper, Lars Johansson.
The match continued to be a high-octane encounter, with both teams going toe-to-toe for the majority of the first half. However, it was Forshaga who made the crucial breakthrough in the 38th minute, as Niklas Bengtsson found the back of the net with a clinical finish.
IFK Kristinehamn tried to hit back quickly and came close to levelling the score, but their efforts were thwarted by the disciplined Forshaga defence. The visitors then doubled their lead just before the break, thanks to a stunning long-range effort from Christoffer Åström.
The second half saw IFK Kristinehamn trying to mount a comeback, but they failed to create any clear-cut chances. Forshaga, on the other hand, looked dangerous on the counter-attack and could have added to their lead on a number of occasions.
As the match entered the final moments, both teams made a series of substitutions in an attempt to change the game. However, it was Forshaga who held on for the three points, with IFK Kristinehamn's frustrations boiling over when Douglas Andersson received a yellow card in the 30th minute and Filip Gustafsson in the 81st minute.
With this result, Forshaga maintain their position at the top of the table, while IFK Kristinehamn slip to fifth place.
