It was a chilly evening at Vänersvallen Nord artificial grass when Vänersborgs IF U welcomed the bottom team Sjuntorps IF (9:9) in the final match of this year’s season. The 90 spectators kept warm by cheering for the home team, which from the first minute put significant pressure on the opponents.

Already after three minutes, Hanna Persson scored the first goal, making it 1-0 with a free kick that sailed over the wall and into the net. Sjuntorps IF (9:9) tried to build some offensive play, but Vänersborg’s defense held firm and broke down all attempts at dangerous shots.

In the 18th minute, the lead was doubled when Jennifer Demiri received the ball on the right flank, sped past defenders, and pushed the ball into the far corner. The home team continued to dominate the match and experimented with various attacking plays.

In the 70th minute, Selma Sandén Wester extended the lead to 3-0 with a shot that bounced off the ground and went over the goalkeeper, who was unable to react in time. Sjuntorps IF (9:9) desperately tried to create chances but to no avail, becoming frustrated by the tough match.

With one minute left in the game, Ellen Bråberg made it 4-0 with a precise shot that went in via the crossbar, extinguishing all hope for Sjuntorps IF (9:9). The match ended 4-0 in favor of Vänersborgs IF U, leading to cheers from the home fans.

This was the second time this season that Vänersborgs IF U won against Sjuntorps IF (9:9), and they finished the season in sixth place in the table, while Sjuntorps IF (9:9) ended up last. It was, after all, a good conclusion to the season for Vänersborgs IF U, who are preparing for next year with higher expectations.
