In an intense match in Division 5 Dalsland on Saturday afternoon, Ellenö IK faced off against Fengersfors IK at Håmulevallen. Despite a modest attendance of 40 spectators, the teams delivered an entertaining match that ended 4-3 in favor of the home team.
Ellenö started the match strongly, and in the 25th minute, Ismail Fazlija skillfully scored a free kick, putting the ball into the net behind the Fengersfors goalkeeper. Last season's top scorer, Kreshnik Bytyqi, then extended the lead by converting a penalty in the 31st minute after a Fengersfors player fouled an Ellenö player in the penalty area. Joel Svanbo-Pettersson capped off a lovely collaboration on the goal line in the 39th minute, scoring to make it 3-0 for Ellenö.
However, Fengersfors did not give up, and a minute before halftime, Atle Lindh reduced the deficit to 3-1. Alfred Wedberg from Fengersfors received a warning in the 45th minute, and the teams went into halftime with a score of 3-1.
In the second half, Fengersfors aimed for a comeback and pressed hard to find the net. But Ellenö held their ground, and Kreshnik Bytyqi converted his second penalty of the match in the 66th minute to increase the lead to 4-1.
Fengersfors refused to back down, and in the 76th minute, Atle Lindh scored his second goal of the day. Just four minutes later, Anis Khaled netted a beautiful goal, and the lead was now just 4-3 for Ellenö.
Ellenö intensified their efforts to hold off Fengersfors. After several eventful minutes, the referee pulled out a card and issued a warning to Joel Svanbo-Pettersson, who had played strongly for Ellenö, in the 73rd minute. Kreshnik Bytyqi also received a warning in the 84th minute, but in the 94th minute, Joel Svanbo-Pettersson was shown a second yellow card and was sent off the field.
The match ended 4-3 for Ellenö IK, who managed to fend off Fengersfors in the end despite a strong second half from the visitors. Benny Berntsson officiated the match, along with assistant referees Tony Hansson and Qusai Alswaid.
