Sunday evening offered an exciting match between Skutskärs IF FK and Årsunda IF 2 at Skutskärs IP. The attendance might not have been the largest with only 46 people present, but those who were there were treated to an eventful encounter in Division 5 Gästrikland.
It was the visiting Årsunda IF 2 who opened the scoring when Jonas Lånström found the net in the 27th minute. However, the home team quickly responded through Elias Sundell, who equalized in the 35th minute, and the match was once again wide open.
Before halftime, Årsunda would reclaim the lead as Lånström scored his second goal of the evening in the 46th minute. Just one minute later, they extended their lead when Sondre Ramstad found the net.
Skutskär desperately tried to reduce the deficit and created a few dangerous chances, but Årsunda's defense held strong. In the 79th minute, Felix Nordström struck and increased the visitors' lead to 4-1.
Skutskär did not give up and reduced the score with a determined Ragheb Hamki in the 89th minute. However, it would prove to be too late as Ramstad scored his second of the evening, setting the final score at 5-2 in the 91st minute.
Referee Meron Abraha Tekle had a relatively calm evening with only two yellow cards, one to Årsunda's Ramstad and one to Skutskär's Fabian Zimmerhofer. Assistant referees Abdillahi Dahir "Abbe" Ahmed and Sharmaarke Ahmed also performed their duties commendably.
Årsunda IF 2 takes home three much-needed points while Skutskärs IF FK will have to continue their search for their first victory of the season in Division 5.
