Landvetter IF 2003 (B) hosted Backatorp IF at Landvetter IP on Monday evening in a Division 5 Gothenburg match for women, in front of an empty stand due to COVID-19. Referee Johan Ingemar Stridsberg blew the whistle to start the match at 20:15.
The match began fairly evenly with both teams having chances to score, but it was the home team that gradually started to take control of the game. In the 44th minute, after a nice combination, Smilla Engman received the ball in the penalty area and shot in 1-0 for Landvetter IF 2003 (B).
In the second half, the home team continued to dominate the match and in the 72nd minute, after a great pass from a corner kick, Isabell Högström hit the ball on the volley to make it 2-0.
Just three minutes later, Smilla Engman scored her second goal of the match after a fine individual effort, increasing the lead to 3-0. Backatorp IF fought on but struggled to create any real dangerous scoring opportunities.
In the 75th minute, Backatorp IF's Sara Gianello received a warning after a tough attempt to tackle a Landvetter player. In the same minute, Smilla Engman completed her hat trick with her third goal of the match, extending the home team's lead to 4-0.
The match ended 4-0 in favor of Landvetter IF 2003 (B) after an intense and well-played game from both teams. The Landvetter supporters who followed the match from a distance could rejoice in a decisive victory for their favorite team.
