Södermalm FF stepped onto Kustängens IP ready to face Stöde IF in an exciting match in Division 5 Medelpad. Referee Thomas Thunström kicked off the match as scheduled at 7:00 PM on Monday evening in front of an audience of 89 people. Assisted by Nils Börlin and Samuel Sundling, he was responsible for ensuring the game flowed smoothly.
It was an offensive Södermalm FF that took control from the start, and already in the 3rd minute of the match, they managed to put the ball in the net behind the Stöde IF goalkeeper. It was Tommy Stenqvist who had the honor of scoring the team’s first goal of the evening. After the early lead, the home team continued to press, and in the 8th minute, Mattis Olofsson found the back of the net to increase Södermalm’s lead to 2-0.
However, Stöde IF showed that they were not going to give up easily, and in the 30th minute, Andrew Söderberg reduced the score to 2-1 after placing the ball in the right corner. Södermalm, however, was not impressed and continued to play offensively. This paid off in the 53rd minute when Peter Bingman scored the team’s third goal of the evening.
With a lead of 3-1, Södermalm FF wanted to make sure to secure the victory. They continued to dominate possession and did not give Stöde IF much space to create any threats. Eventually, there was a fourth goal for Södermalm in the 80th minute, again by Peter Bingman, which secured three important points for the team.
Referee Thomas Thunström blew the final whistle and Södermalm FF could celebrate a well-deserved and convincing victory by 4-1. The team had played good football and demonstrated that they were the stronger side for the evening. For Stöde IF, however, things did not go as hoped. Despite a reduction in score, they never caught up with Södermalm FF’s lead and had to head home with a loss in their luggage.
