On Saturday afternoon, Västerlösa GoIF faced BK Derby at Kornettevallen in a tough match in Division 5 Östergötland Västra. The crowd was not particularly large, with only 46 people in attendance, but those who were there saw an exciting match. Namrod Roueil was the referee, and Adis Cejvan and Mahmood Seyed-Aghamiri were the assistants.
The match did not start well for Västerlösa GoIF, as BK Derby took the lead just 15 minutes into the game with a goal from Yahye Egeh. Egeh was hot and increased Derby's lead to 0-2 after 25 minutes. Västerlösa GoIF struggled to create chances and defended deep.
Derby showcased a fantastic performance, with Gustaf Ginstman scoring their third goal after 36 minutes. The first half of the match was literally all Derby's, and Västerlösa's defense was under pressure.
However, Tommy Hagäng was not satisfied with his defense and received a yellow card after 44 minutes. But Västerlösa continued to fight, and Otto Sekandagu motivated the team and managed to get past Derby's defense, eventually scoring a penalty after 57 minutes.
There was a brief resurgence for Västerlösa when Otto Sekandagu scored another goal, making the scoreline 2-3 and reducing the gap between the teams. The goal came after 65 minutes, and the atmosphere at Kornettevallen lifted.
But it was not enough for Västerlösa, as Elis Holmberg scored the fourth and final goal for BK Derby near the end of the match. He hit the ball right on the goal line and slotted it behind Västerlösa’s goalkeeper.
After the goal, BK Derby's coach Rijad Skopljak received a warning for excessive celebration. However, that did not stop BK Derby from winning the match 4-2. Overall, most players on Derby's team put in a very good performance, demonstrating that they are a truly strong team in the league.
