Vanstads IF faced Åhus IF at Vanstad Arena's A-pitch in front of an empty stand, as no spectators had made their way there on this Wednesday evening. Referee Halit Makolli was assisted by Frank Straubel and Viktor Olsson during the match.
The match started intensely, and just two minutes in, the home team took the lead when Martin Wellerup Andersson scored. However, Åhus IF quickly equalized through Sebastian Siversson in the 17th minute. Just a few minutes later, Vanstad regained the lead when Edvin Nilsson scored from a penalty. Åhus IF received two warnings during the first half, first for Jimmy Rooth in the 21st minute and later for Felix Persson in the 29th minute.
In the second half, scoring continued as Sebastian Siversson headed in his second goal of the evening, making it 2-2. Once again, Åhus IF received a warning, this time for Gustav Nilosjö in the 60th minute.
With only a few minutes left in the match, Marcus Sjölin secured the victory for Vanstads IF by scoring the decisive goal, 3-2, in the 88th minute. Vanstads IF’s coach Dennie Persson and team leader Rickard Rasmusson received warnings during the closing moments of the match.
When the final whistle blew, it was clear that Vanstads IF had won the match 3-2. An invaluable victory for the bottom-placed team against a stronger Åhus IF.
