It was a sunny Saturday afternoon at Runavallen when Runtuna IK faced Afrikansk FC in Division 5 Södermanland for the men's team. Despite there being no fans present to support the teams on the field, the pace was high from the start of the match. Referee George Gerges officiated the game alongside assistant referees Friman Maekele Ghebreamlak and Abdi Hassan Abukar.
The match began with a fierce battle for the ball, and it didn’t take long before the first warning was issued. Allie Marah from Afrikansk FC received a yellow card after he went in too hard in a duel with an opponent.
But it was Runtuna IK that would score the first goal of the match, with Linus Stenberg finding the net in the 44th minute, giving the home team a 1-0 lead.
The second half started with high pressure from both teams, but it was Runtuna IK that would extend their lead after ten minutes. Fredrik Nordin scored and the home team took a 2-0 lead.
Afrikansk FC could not quite stop Runtuna IK's attacks and struggled defensively. Jersey Ifaluyi received his first yellow card after pulling down an opponent, and just a few minutes later, Olayemi Mubarak Sanusi also got his first warning.
In the 80th minute, Albin Jonsson Dahlberg scored the third goal for Runtuna IK and just a minute later, Sanusi was cautioned again. However, this time the warning led to a red card, leaving Afrikansk FC with only nine players.
Anders Jernér added a fourth and final goal in the 85th minute for the home team, sealing the match at 4-0 in favor of Runtuna IK. Afrikansk FC's coach Chukwudi Nwogu received a warning in the 88th minute, but it was already too late to change the outcome of the match.
Runtuna IK secured three much-needed points, while Afrikansk FC needs to work harder to earn points in their next match.
