It was a sunny Sunday evening at Järfällavallen when FC Järfälla hosted IK Makkabi in a match in Division 5 Stockholm A for women. Unfortunately, the match attracted no spectators, but those who chose to stay home missed a fantastic display by the guests from IK Makkabi.
The match got off to a frantic start, with both teams displaying a high tempo, but it was IK Makkabi who took the lead in the 29th minute when Hannah Zlotnik calmly finished after a nice attack. Just three minutes later, Hannah Wald extended the lead to 2-0 for the visiting team.
The second half looked set to be an open affair, but IK Makkabi was completely dominant, and Alice Freilich Arhammar increased the lead to 3-0 after just seven minutes of play. Now and then, FC Järfälla managed some promising attacks, but they failed to convert their chances into goals. Instead, Suzan Basberber was sent off in the 75th minute after a violent tackle on an opponent.
The match was already decided when Hannah Zlotnik scored her second goal in the 78th minute, but IK Makkabi continued to have fun on the pitch. Tove Bjernudd and Alice Freilich Arhammar both scored within two minutes, and Hannah Zlotnik struck again to complete her hat trick, increasing the lead to 6-0.
Jenny Sallmander scored in the 88th minute, and Alice Freilich Arhammar capped off a fantastic match with her second goal of the day in stoppage time. The match ended 0-8 in favor of the visiting team, IK Makkabi, who fully deserved the victory after an outstanding performance. Referee Yusuf Hassan had a relatively calm evening, aside from a red card and a few minor infractions. FC Järfälla has much to reflect on after this performance, while IK Makkabi will move forward with smiles on their faces after showcasing some fantastic football.
