Långholmen FC continues to dominate in Division 5 Stockholm B for women, having defeated BK Träsket 7-1 at Essinge IP 1 on Friday night. The ten spectators witnessed an exciting match, which was dominated by the home team from start to finish.
Långholmen FC started the match strongly and put high pressure on BK Träsket's defense right from the kick-off. This resulted in several early goal chances, which, however, failed to convert into goals. But after about 25 minutes of play, midfielder Clara Andren put the ball in the net, following a precise pass from forward Sara Eriksson. The match was now 1-0 to the home team.
Långholmen FC continued to dominate the game, and BK Träsket struggled to get close to the home team's goal. After 35 minutes, the home team doubled their lead when forward Johanna Andersson found the opening in BK Träsket's defense and scored her first goal of the evening.
BK Träsket fought hard and tried to find gaps in Långholmen FC's defense, but without much success. Instead, the home team continued to extend their lead, much to the delight of the spectators. Just before halftime, forward Sara Eriksson scored the home team’s third goal of the evening with a fantastic shot from the edge of the penalty area.
The second half began with some midfield battles, but after about ten minutes of play, Långholmen FC managed to increase their lead again. Johanna Andersson was again the one who scored the goal, after connecting well with a corner from midfielder Elin Sundström. Minutes later, the sixth goal of the match came when center-back Elvira Lundqvist headed in the ball after another well-placed corner from Elin Sundström.
BK Träsket continued to battle and did their best to minimize the damage, but Långholmen FC showed their superiority. In the 80th minute, Johanna Andersson scored her third goal of the evening, which was also the seventh for Långholmen FC. BK Träsket later managed to score a consolation goal with a fine volley from forward Anna Johansson, but that was all they could achieve at Essinge IP 1 that evening.
The match ended 7-1 to Långholmen FC, who continue to showcase their dominance in Division 5. The home players celebrated joyfully after the match and received a big "hakuna matata" applause from the small crowd. Referee Mohammad Heydari officiated a well-conducted match with only one warning given to each team.
