It was a sunny evening when Umedalens IF 2 faced Östra Ersboda FC at the artificial turf pitch of Östra Ersbodaskolan. In front of a relatively modest crowd of 48, referee Wilma Bengtsson kicked off the match at 20:30 on Monday evening.
It didn't take long for the first goal opportunity to present itself for the away team, Östra Ersboda FC, and after 16 minutes of play, they finally found the net. Abdimajid Abdullahi Farah received the ball in the penalty area and coolly placed it past the Umedalen goalkeeper. The score was now 0-1 in favor of Östra Ersboda FC.
Umedalen tried to equalize, but after 20 minutes, Östra Ersboda extended their lead through Leon Eriksson, who tapped the ball in after a good attack by the away team. The score was now 0-2.
It didn't get any better for Umedalen when Abdiasis Ahmed Dirie further increased the lead, neatly placing the ball in the right corner. When Abdimajid Abdullahi Farah scored his second goal of the day, Östra Ersboda FC had a comfortable lead of 0-4.
The Umedalen players seemed spiritually broken by the large deficit but still tried to get a consolation goal. Just before halftime, they managed to reduce the score through Henrik Sandström, who tapped the ball in after a nice attack. The score was now 1-4.
The second half started relatively quietly, and neither team managed to create any significant threats. But with five minutes left in the match, Umedalen saw one last chance to make a proper comeback when Lucas Lindström connected with a cross and headed in to make it 2-4.
Unfortunately, it was too late, and the match ended 2-4 in favor of Östra Ersboda FC. Umedalen had a lot of ball possession but could not convert it into more goals. Östra Ersboda FC demonstrated efficiency and won deservedly.
