Viby IF secured a convincing victory over Näsby IF on home turf at Grönängen A-plan on Friday evening. In front of an audience of 100 and with Serkan Degirmenci as the referee, and Matthias Karlsson and Adam Al Kurwi as assistant referees, the two teams faced off in Division 6 Skåne Nordöstra A, men's category.
The situation before the match was quite clear; Viby IF was leading the table while Näsby IF was in 6th place. However, Näsby IF started the match strongly, and it was Kujtim Sokoli who scored to make it 0-1 in the 42nd minute. But before the end of the first half, Viby IF took control of the game, and in the 44th minute, Adnan Becirovic equalized to 1-1.
Immediately after the halftime break, the same Becirovic put Viby IF ahead 2-1. Shortly thereafter, Jacob Granberg extended the lead to 3-1, and then it was just a matter of time before the match was decided. In the 81st minute, Adam Åstedt finalized the score at 4-1 in favor of Viby IF.
Admittedly, it was not a flawless match for Viby IF, with several warnings and goals in the wrong net, but when all was said and done, Viby IF walked away with the victory and restored order in the table. Jens Persson, the coach of Viby IF, was pleased with the win but also aware that the team needs to perform even better to have a chance at promotion.
