On a sunny Monday evening, June 12, 2023, Viby IF and Näsums IF met at Grönängen A-plan in Division 6 Skåne Nordöstra A for men's teams. Unfortunately, there was no audience present to experience the match, but that did not stop the teams from doing their best to emerge with a victory.
Referee Sorin Vatau and his assistants Magnus Englesson and Belal Ayyad kept control of the game from start to finish. After a couple of chances on both sides, Näsums' William Persson showed where the goal was. In the 55th minute, he found himself free with the goalkeeper and put the ball in the net, giving Näsums a 1-0 lead. Viby fought hard to equalize and take the lead, but Näsums' defense held strong.
In the 64th minute, Viby’s Gustav Hall received a warning for a tough tackle. Näsums defender Mostfa Zarif followed Hall's example and also received a warning just a minute later. Näsums' Olle Petersson-Id also received a warning in the 85th minute for a late tackle on Viby’s forward. Despite this, Näsums was able to control the match and maintain their 1-0 lead until the final whistle.
When the referee blew the whistle to end the match, the scoreboard showed a 1-0 victory for Näsums IF, who could celebrate three much-needed points in the league table. Viby IF left empty-handed and had to return to the drawing board to see what needed to be adjusted. It was a well-played match that offered excitement from start to finish!
