Åsums BK thrashed Venestad IF in what was undeniably a dreadful football match at Wendesvallen A-plan on Saturday afternoon. The home team took the lead just seven minutes in with a fine strike from William Palmé, which proved to be the starting gun for a real goal fest.
Ali Özgür extended the lead to 2-0 after eighteen minutes, and shortly afterward, Måns Rydberg received a yellow card. However, this hardly concerned the Åsum players, who continued to rack up goals. Linus Axelsson scored two of four quick goals for the home team before the halftime break.
The second half was no better for Venestad, as they watched Åsum continue to pile on the goals. Palmé and Axelsson each completed their hat tricks, and Ali Özgür also found the back of the net for the third time.
In the end, the scoreboard read 17-0, leading to a somewhat anticlimactic finish to the match. Åsums BK showcased an incredible offensive display and truly deserved the three points, but for Venestad IF, it’s back to the drawing board to find a new tactic.
