At Spannarps IP A-plan, a Division 6 match was played today between IF Salamis and Össjö IS on a slightly sunny Saturday afternoon. The attendance was 56 people, and the match was officiated by Florim Nikqi, assisted by Ulf Palmgren and Bengt Carlsson.
The match started intensely, with both teams fighting hard for control of the game. Already after 16 minutes, IF Salamis struck first and took the lead 1-0 through Christoffer Olsson, who was quick to the ball and outsmarted the Össjö IS goalkeeper.
IF Salamis continued to dominate, and two minutes later, Calle Zachrisson increased the lead to 2-0 after receiving a nice pass from a teammate. With ten minutes left in the first half, IF Salamis stepped up their game, and Christoffer Olsson scored his second goal of the day after a fine individual effort, giving IF Salamis a comfortable lead of 3-0.
As the second half began, Össjö IS tried to claw their way back into the match, and junior Sörensen received a warning after a harsh tackle. Despite a few chances, they failed to reduce the deficit, and instead, IF Salamis extended their lead further through Jonas Lendrén, who placed the ball distinctly past the Össjö IS goalkeeper, making it 4-0 for the home team.
With eight minutes left, Össjö IS finally managed to score a consolation goal through Martin Brovinius, but it was too late for a comeback, and the match ended 4-1 in favor of IF Salamis. Patrik Andersson received a late warning for IF Salamis, but it did not affect the outcome of the match, and the home team took a well-deserved victory after a dominant performance.
