Treby IF managed to secure three much-needed points in a tight match against bottom team Vittsjö GIK at Lindvallen A-plan. Despite the complete absence of spectators, both teams delivered an exciting match that was decided early in the first half.
The home team Treby IF started the match strongest and took the lead after just seven minutes, when Lucas Schölin found the net following a fine pass from midfielder Ali Shahir Safi. After the goal, Treby IF continued to press Vittsjö GIK and created several dangerous chances, but they were unable to extend their lead.
Vittsjö GIK, however, rallied after the goal and began playing more aggressively, resulting in several hard tackles and free kicks. After 24 minutes, Samiel Teklat received a yellow card for a tough challenge on an opponent. Yellow cards were also issued to Van Hai Nguyen, Ted Andersson, and Khalid Adam Ismail Hammad.
In the second half, the match remained even, with both teams creating numerous chances to score. Vittsjö GIK desperately tried to equalize, but Treby IF’s defense held firm and managed to keep them at bay. Despite further yellow cards issued to both teams, neither was able to score again, and the match ended with a crucial victory for Treby IF.
After the match, Treby IF's coach, Martin Lundqvist, was very pleased with his players' performance. "We have fought hard all season, and I am proud of the team's performance today. We had some difficulties in the second half, but it only showed that we have strong character and that we have learned to handle pressure," he said.
On the other hand, Vittsjö GIK's coach, Emma Persson, was disappointed with the loss. "We played a good match, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough. We need to continue working on our defense and our attacking play if we want to earn points moving forward," she said.
