On this Thursday evening at Åvallen, it felt like the match between Hallaryds IF and Pjätteryds GOIF had all the ingredients to be a nail-biter for the 100 spectators who had gathered there. And honestly, that’s exactly what it turned out to be.
Already in the 16th minute, Pjätteryd took the lead with a slick strike from Christoffer Wilhelmsson, and it seemed like they would have a good start to the match. But Hallaryds IF certainly had other plans. It became a hard struggle for them in the remaining minutes, but they managed to hold their ground and prevent any further goals from Pjätteryd.
The second half continued, and both teams fought hard, but no new goals came. Then came the moment that nobody wants to hear about – an own goal. In the 81st minute, a Hallaryds defender misplayed the ball, which ended up hitting the net behind their own goalkeeper, resulting in Pjätteryd losing their lead, and the match ended 1-1.
It was a match that could have ended in many different ways, with both sides playing well. Referee Asmir Ferhatovic did an excellent job and kept control of the game throughout the match. It was truly a match to remember!
