It was a severe drubbing when IK Standard faced Kvicksunds SK U at Hållsta IP on Sunday afternoon. The match began evenly with an early goal from Kvicksunds' Rasmus Svanström Lundin in the 12th minute. However, IK Standard quickly responded through Christoffer Thiman, who managed to equalize in the 32nd minute.
Unfortunately for IK Standard, the match soon became a one-man show from Kvicksunds' side. An own goal from IK Standard, along with goals from Melvin Andersson, Rasmus Svanström Lundin, Casper Bergdahl, and Elijah Bandick, meant that Kvicksunds led 5-1 at halftime.
The second half didn’t get much better for IK Standard, who had to focus on limiting the number of goals conceded. Mårten Arnerdal scored a penalty, and Rasmus Svanström Lundin added two more goals, completing his hat trick. The final score ended 10-1 in favor of Kvicksunds, following a header goal from Kenny Vokbus in the closing minutes.
Referee Benjamin Andersson and his assistants Zander Ayad Shamoon and Nasa Dadkoush maintained a good standard throughout the match, and there were never any major conflicts between the teams, despite the large goal difference. Unfortunately, three players from IK Standard received bookings, which only added to an already challenging match for the team.
Despite the significant loss, IK Standard's players demonstrated a good attitude and fought hard throughout the game, but they had little to counter against a very strong Kvicksunds SK U. Unfortunately, the audience was absent due to the prevailing Covid-19 restrictions, but it was still a match that will be remembered for Kvicksunds' enthusiastic performance.
