It was Saturday afternoon and Essinge IP 1 was filled with excitement as Stockholm University FF faced Saltsjöbaden IF in Division 6 Stockholm D for men. With only 12 people in attendance, the match kicked off and our referee for the day, Furkan-Sami Kocak, was ready to blow the whistle.
It didn't take long before Saltsjöbaden IF took control of the match and put pressure on the home team. In the 15th minute of the match, Filip Wetter seized the opportunity and scored to give the away team the lead.
Stockholm University FF fought back, and in the 21st minute, Fabian Bergland was awarded a penalty, but his attempt on goal was saved by Saltsjöbaden IF’s goalkeeper.
In the 39th minute, Saltsjöbaden IF’s center-back, Ludwig Bäckmalm, received a yellow card for a tough tackle. At half-time, the score was 0-1 in favor of Saltsjöbaden.
The second half began with a heavily pressing home team that quickly found success when Christian Maarten Sloot scored his goal in the 46th minute. But just three minutes later, Saltsjöbaden's Axel Ranje responded with a goal of his own, once again giving the away team the lead.
In the 61st minute, Markus Öberg became the hero, scoring the away team’s third goal and solidifying their position. Alexander Ripe from Saltsjöbaden IF received a yellow card for a tackle in the 62nd minute, while Tor Desax from the home team received a yellow card in the 71st minute.
With just nine minutes left in the match, Gustav Hellquist from the away team also got a yellow card. But before the match ended, Nicke Wallin scored the fourth goal for Saltsjöbaden IF in the 86th minute.
The match ended with a score of 1-4 in favor of Saltsjöbaden IF, featuring many hard-fought battles and several yellow cards for both teams. This was an impressive performance from the away team, who secured a convincing victory at Stockholm University FF's home ground.
