It was a sunny Sunday afternoon at Vargspåret IP 1 when Funbo IF faced Storvreta IK 2 in the last match of Division 6 Uppland Östra. It was an exciting and intense meeting with high expectations on both sides.
From the very start of the match, Funbo IF proved to be the stronger team. They took control immediately, and it didn't take long before Felix Ferngren scored the first goal for the home team in the third minute. Just three minutes later, it was 2-0 thanks to Ferngren again and a goal from Axel Andersson.
Funbo IF continued to press, and in the twelfth minute, Ferngren completed his hat trick. Storvreta IK 2 fought hard and seized an opportunity in the sixteenth minute when Theodor Vänman scored a goal, but it would prove to be their only one of the day.
For the rest of the first half, Funbo continued to dominate the game and score goals. They went into halftime with an impressive lead of 7-1 after two more goals from Andersson and Lukas Wallsten, as well as two additional goals from Andersson before the break.
The second half continued in the same fashion as the first, with Funbo IF being the stronger team. Storvreta IK 2 received an early red card and at times played with only ten men on the field. Funbo took advantage of this and scored an additional six goals during the second half.
Tim Westberg, Wallsten, and Ludvig Huber added three more goals for Funbo IF, bringing the final score to a convincing 13-1 victory for the home team.
With this result, both Funbo IF and Storvreta IK 2 concluded their season in Division 6 Uppland Östra. Funbo IF finished in an impressive fourth place, while Storvreta IK 2 ended up in eighth place in the table. However, on the day, it was Funbo IF who celebrated and reveled in their convincing victory on their home turf.
