It was a sunny Tuesday afternoon at Borgsmo IP when IK Sleipner B hosted IK Österviking B in a Division 7 men’s football match. Despite being an important match for both teams, there was an unusually low attendance of zero spectators in the stands.
Referee Ablahad Shamoun blew the whistle to start the match, and just four minutes in, the visitors took the lead through Albert Sävhult. Just two minutes later, William Lindell doubled the lead to 2-0 for IK Österviking B. It didn’t take long before Filip Kantedal made it 3-0 for the guests in the 33rd minute.
In the second half, IK Österviking B continued to dominate the match, and in the 56th minute, Tomas Axmacher converted a penalty to extend the lead to 4-0. Emil Andersson then made it 5-0 for the visitors in the 79th minute.
Despite the large deficit, IK Sleipner B did not give up and managed to reduce the score with two penalty goals by Wajdi Hammami and Amar Radovac in the 85th and 88th minutes. Despite a strong finish from the home team, the match ended 5-2 in favor of IK Österviking B.
IK Sleipner B will take lessons from the match while IK Österviking B continues to chase a higher position in the standings of Division 7 Östergötland Östra.
