The excitement was at its peak when Borensbergs IF FK C faced IFK Motala FK B at Bergvallen for the Division 7 Östergötland Western men's match on Sunday afternoon. In front of a sparsely attended audience of 25 people and under the supervision of referee Henrik Blomsten, the match started with high intensity from both teams.
IFK Motala FK B began strongly and took the lead with an unfortunate own goal from Borensbergs IF FK C in the 30th minute. However, the home team worked hard to get back into the match and equalized through Christopher Thyrstedt in the 34th minute.
IFK Motala FK B quickly responded with Jakob Wickström, who scored in the 36th minute, but it was Borensbergs IF FK C once again that took the initiative and equalized to 2-2 through Marcus Lindblom in the 39th minute.
Just before halftime, IFK Motala FK B regained the lead through Daniel Dahlqvist, putting the score at 2-3 at the break.
The second half proved to be goal-rich and very dramatic. Borensbergs IF FK C started with a fortunate own goal in the 52nd minute but soon took control of the match, scoring three goals in six minutes through Ludvig Ohlson, Andreas Ring, and Albin Croné, suddenly leading 5-3.
But IFK Motala FK B would not give up so easily. Jakob Wickström reduced the score to 5-4 in the 62nd minute, and two minutes later, Daniel Dahlqvist found the net again, equalizing at 5-5. Pavel Hurynovich also displayed his goal-scoring ability and scored two goals in two minutes, giving the visiting IFK Motala FK B a 5-7 lead.
Daniel Dahlqvist then completed his hat trick in the 70th minute by scoring 5-8, and Simon Björklund increased it to 5-9 just a few minutes later. Borensbergs IF FK C continued to fight, and Albin Croné managed to score a goal for the home team in the 79th minute.
However, IFK Motala FK B maintained the lead and all three points after a very well-played match. Ossian Askling received a yellow card in the 83rd minute for the guests. The final score was Borensbergs IF FK C 6 - 9 IFK Motala FK B.
