Almunge IK 2 faced Väddö IF 2 in an exciting match at Sävja IP 2 on Saturday afternoon. With 36 spectators in attendance and Rudi Milaimovic as the referee, expectations were high for both teams.
Almunge IK 2, who are leading the table in Division 8 Uppland Östra, showed they were in fine form right from the kickoff. After just 5 minutes, they were awarded a penalty, which Albin Holm expertly converted, giving Almunge a 1-0 lead.
However, Väddö IF 2 responded quickly, and after 23 minutes, Viktor Haeger Sjöström scored a penalty to equalize at 1-1.
But Almunge continued to press on, and after 32 minutes, Jamie Matthew Mc Kenna scored from a free kick that found its way into the net, restoring Almunge's lead to 2-1. Albin Holm, however, received a warning just six minutes later.
Väddö IF 2, however, showed that it was not over yet. Just ten minutes later, after 40 minutes, Loke Hallin scored his first goal, equalizing at 2-2.
But they were not satisfied with just a point and continued to fight. After 43 minutes, Loke Hallin scored his second goal of the day, giving Väddö a 3-2 lead. Noel Rosén received a warning just one minute later.
Almunge, however, did not let themselves be defeated, and after 83 minutes, Edvin Rydberg scored, bringing the score to 3-3. But in the 85th minute, Väddö IF 2 scored an own goal, giving Almunge a 4-3 lead.
Things got tense at the end. Noel Rosén received another warning and was sent off, which reduced Väddö's strength significantly. Wilton Hector Reyes Castro also received a warning, but it did not help. Almunge held on and won the match 4-3. A crucial victory for them as they continue to lead the table.
