Älta IF secured an important victory at home when they defeated IK Sirius FK 2-1 at Älta IP 1 in front of a crowd of 303 spectators.

The match started with a caution for Älta IF when Elin Ekblom Bak received a yellow card in the 9th minute. Then it was Thórdís Sigfúsdóttir who opened the scoring for Älta with a goal to make it 1-0 in the 30th minute. Just before halftime, Elin Ekblom Bak extended the lead to 2-0 with a beautiful header in the 43rd minute.

At halftime, IK Sirius FK made two substitutions in an attempt to turn the match around, but it was Älta IF that continued to dominate. Despite a warning for Anna Lechner in the 84th minute, IK Sirius FK managed to reduce the deficit to 2-1 through Annina Wede in the 88th minute.

Despite an intense finish, Älta IF held on and secured three points. After the match, Älta IF sits in eighth place in the standings while IK Sirius FK is in twelfth place. A significant victory for Älta IF to build on for the rest of the season.
