On Wednesday evening at Skytteholms IP 1, AIK and KIF Örebro DFF faced each other in a match in the Elitettan. With only 169 spectators and referee Annica Torkelsson along with assistant referees Agnes Emborg and Leonora Heimdahl, AIK started strongly and managed to score 1-0 after just twelve minutes, with Emma Engström putting the ball in the net. KIF Örebro DFF, however, quickly recovered and converted a penalty through Courtney Strode in the 30th minute, leveling the score at 1-1.
Just before halftime, KIF Örebro DFF took the lead when Strode managed to score her second goal of the evening, giving them a 2-1 lead at the halftime break. AIK, however, did not give up and fought hard to equalize. After 69 minutes, they were awarded a free kick that Fanny Lång successfully turned into a goal, making the score 2-2.
Both teams continued to battle and tried to find the decisive goal, but neither succeeded. AIK attempted to substitute players to shake up the team and get the offense going, but it was not enough to secure a victory. The match ultimately ended 2-2, after an exciting game that featured several scoring chances and goals.
