It was an exciting match at NP3 Arena when Sundsvall DFF faced AIK in Elitettan on Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately, attendance was low, with only 103 people in the stands. The referee for the match was Petter Lindbom, with Oscar Moss and Abdullatif Al-Barawy serving as assistant referees.
The match started evenly, but in the 27th minute, the home team's Hannah Melarti scored a nice half-volley, putting the ball in the net and giving Sundsvall DFF the lead. AIK had the opportunity to make two substitutions at halftime, with Emelie Jansson and Olivia Lindstedt replacing Annika Svensson and Sara Frigren.
After an hour of play, Sundsvall DFF's Irma Burman was substituted for Tilda Wärulf. Just a few minutes later, AIK's Moa Sjöström was substituted for Wilma Ljung Klingwall, which gave AIK more energy in attack. This resulted in a fine equalizer from Michelle Rojas Flores in the 67th minute.
With 20 minutes left in the match, Sundsvall DFF's Hannah Melarti was substituted for Nadja Fernström, but this did not have the desired effect for the home team. Instead, Amanda Hagelberg received a warning for a tough tackle, which felt like it came half an hour later.
In the 85th minute, AIK managed to take the lead when Matilda Nildén slipped the ball past Sundsvall's goalkeeper. It was an important goal for the away team after a fruitless struggle to find the net throughout the match.
The match ended 1-2 in favor of AIK, and it was a deserved victory for the visitors, who were more effective in their play. Unfortunately, it felt as though Sundsvall DFF was not as threatening in attack as they had been during the previous season. Hopefully, they will address their mistakes and come back stronger in the next match.
