It was an afternoon full of excitement and drama at Edsborgs IP A-plan when FC Trollhättan and Torns IF faced off in Ettan Södra for men. With 570 spectators in attendance, many expected a close and tough match.
But it was Torns IF that proved to be the stronger team from the start. Already after ten minutes of play, they took the lead through Osama Khattab, and when Emin Karaman extended the lead to 2-0 after 26 minutes, it looked increasingly hopeless for the home team. Linus Persson even made it 3-0 for Torns IF in the last minute of the first half.
FC Trollhättan clearly needed a change at halftime, and it was Nasiru Mohammed who came on for Samuel Rundqvist. This led to increased energy and pressure on Torns IF's defense, and just three minutes into the half, Alibek Aliev reduced the score to 1-3. It was a header that came after a fine assist from Emilio Reljanovic.
After that, FC Trollhättan continued to put significant pressure on Torns IF's goal. Kevin Liimatainen made it 2-3 after 64 minutes, thanks to a nice pass from Yoel Embaye. Torns IF's Granit Stagova received a yellow card in the 53rd minute, and Alibek Aliev was cautioned for FC Trollhättan after 73 minutes.
With only ten minutes left to play, Torns IF substituted Emil Jönsson for Emin Karaman, and Lass Hamawand came on for Emil Persson. But it didn't help, as Torns IF's coach Nima Mahoutchian was sent off from the bench with just ten minutes to go.
After that, FC Trollhättan continued to attack, but Torns IF held their ground and maintained the lead. FC Trollhättan brought on Enoch Adu for Emilio Reljanovic in the 86th minute, and Erik Grandelius replaced Alen Kasumovic in the 90th minute. Torns IF substituted Olof Gullberg for Osama Khattab in the 90th minute.
The match then ended with Torns' victory at 3-2, despite a strong second half from FC Trollhättan. With this win, Torns IF earns three points and climbs up to seventh place in the table, while FC Trollhättan remains in the lead.
