It was a sunny Saturday afternoon at Idrottsparken when Sundsvalls DFF hosted IFK Gävle in an exciting match in the Norrettan for women. Despite Sundsvalls DFF being in second place in the table and IFK Gävle being last, both teams displayed a strong fighting spirit from the outset.
Already after 14 minutes, IFK Gävle received a warning from referee Arian Chalak, and just six minutes later, they were reduced to ten players as Kaisa Nilsson was sent off. Sundsvalls DFF took advantage of this and opened the scoring with a penalty goal from Linda Halén in the 22nd minute.
The goals continued to come for Sundsvalls DFF as Jenny Hjohlman and Emma Jonsson extended the lead to 3-0 before the halftime break. In the second half, Sundsvalls DFF continued to dominate the match, with Jonna Wistrand increasing the score to 4-0 already in the 47th minute.
Despite a few attempts from IFK Gävle to get back into the game, it was Sundsvalls DFF that was the stronger team. Emma Jonsson and Mona Falberg each scored a goal, extending the lead to a whopping 6-0 before the final whistle blew.
