On a sunny Saturday afternoon, IK Sirius FK faced Vasalunds IF at Studenternas in an exciting match in the Norrettan for women. The crowd was not the largest, with only 123 people in the stands, but they still got to see an entertaining game.
Referee Charlie Mekrami and his assistants Vartan Bedrosian and Veldin Konakovic had their hands full keeping track of the game, and the match was intense from the start.
Just 9 minutes in, IK Sirius took the lead through Malin Winberg, and they continued to pressure Vasalunds' defense. Linnéa Eriksson received a yellow card for Sirius and Hodan Siid-Ahmed for Vasalunds in the first half.
In the second half, Jenny Jansson increased Sirius' lead to 2-0, and just five minutes later, Caroline Lundberg made it 3-0 for the home team. Vasalunds tried to come back through substitutions and tactical changes, but it was too late.
In the final minutes, however, Vasalunds managed to score a consolation goal through Tempest-Marie Norlin, but it wasn't enough to threaten Sirius' lead.
The match ended 3-1 in favor of IK Sirius FK, who could celebrate three important points in their pursuit of a higher position in the standings. Although Vasalunds fought hard, it wasn't enough to defeat Sirius this time. A well-played and entertaining match that showed that women's football in Norrettan has a high quality.
