FC Rosengård showcased today why they are a top team in the OBOS Damallsvenskan as they faced Växjö DFF at home at Malmö IP in front of an audience of 1,644. The match started evenly with chances on both sides, but it was FC Rosengård that took the lead in the 25th minute when Glodis Perla Viggosdottir headed the ball in after a nice assist from Johanna Rytting Kaneryd. The home team continued to press and before halftime, they had already increased their lead to 2-0 with a well-placed shot from Hanna Bennison.
In the second half, Växjö DFF struggled to find any response to FC Rosengård's offense, and in the 38th minute, they scored an own goal, making it 3-0 for the home team.
After the third goal, both teams substituted players in an attempt to improve their positions on the field, but it was FC Rosengård that continued to dominate the match. In the 80th minute, Sofie Svava made it 4-0, and by that time, victory was secured for the home team.
Towards the end of the match, FC Rosengård added another goal via a penalty kick converted by Caroline Seger in the 91st minute, and the match ended 5-0 in favor of FC Rosengård. Växjö DFF had a few dangerous opportunities during the match but could never really threaten FC Rosengård's solid defense.
