It was an intense and exciting match at Idrottsparken between GIF Sundsvall and Assyriska FF in Superettan. In front of an audience of 2,212 spectators, Assyriska FF started strong, and Göran Marklund was able to score 0-1 just after 22 minutes of play. But it would be GIF Sundsvall taking the lead in the match. Christian Brink seized a goal-scoring opportunity and put the ball in the net in the middle of the second half. Assyriska FF desperately tried to get an equalizer, but GIF Sundsvall's defense held firm.

Emil Forsberg then sealed the deal by scoring 3-1 for GIF Sundsvall in the 88th minute. The match ended with a clear victory for GIF Sundsvall, which was an important home win in front of their fans. Referee Lars Olsson then blew the final whistle, and thus GIF Sundsvall triumphed in this tough and at times brutal football match.
