Hammarby made a strong comeback when they faced Ängelholms FF at Söderstadion on Sunday evening. Despite Ängelholm taking the lead 1-0 after just eight minutes with a goal from Jörgen Nilsson, Hammarby managed to turn the match around and win 2-1.
It was an even match from the start, and Ängelholm took the opportunity to put pressure on Hammarby early on. This resulted in an early opening goal when Jörgen Nilsson skillfully placed the ball in the net.
Hammarby then struggled to find their rhythm, and it wasn't until the 29th minute that they managed to equalize through Linus Hallenius. After the goal, Hammarby took control of the match and began creating dangerous chances forward.
In the second half, Hammarby increased their pressure on Ängelholm, and Sebastian Bojassén received a warning after picking up a yellow card. Ängelholm tried to hold out, but when Hammarby made several attacking substitutions, it started to feel like a goal was imminent.
That’s exactly what happened in the 83rd minute when Sebastian Castro Tello scored Hammarby’s second goal, giving them the lead for the first time in the match. Ängelholm still attempted to push forward, but Hammarby’s defense held firm until the final whistle.
Hammarby could finally celebrate a much-needed three points and moved up a bit in the standings. Ängelholm, on the other hand, will have to continue fighting to climb up. Referee Lars Olsson had a good performance and kept the game in order along with assistants Peter Arnesson and Anders Böwing in front of 4,950 spectators.
