Örgryte and Ängelholms FF faced each other at Valhalla 1 Artificial Grass in a Superettan match that took place on Wednesday evening. In front of an audience of 1,947, referee Antti Kanerva blew the whistle to start the match, and it was the home team that found success early on.
After thirteen minutes, the ball was in the net behind Ängelholm’s goalkeeper thanks to a goal by Jakob Olsson. However, the guests did not let this discourage them and equalized just before half-time through Gabriel Ucar.
At first, it seemed as though Ängelholms FF would emerge victorious after scoring another goal in the second half, this time by Robin Staaf. But Örgryte quickly responded with David Leinar, who netted two goals in quick succession.
The match was far from decided at this point, and with fifteen minutes left to play, things heated up on the field when Robin Jonsson received two yellow cards in five minutes and was sent off. Despite being one player down, Örgryte regained the lead with David Leinar’s second goal of the match.
However, before the final whistle blew, Ängelholms FF managed to score an equalizer, finalizing the score at 3-3. Patrik Larsson ensured that the guests left Valhalla 1 Artificial Grass with at least one point in hand.
Örgryte’s coach Jan Andersson was sent off after the final whistle for protesting against the referee. The match thus ended in a draw after an eventful encounter where both teams demonstrated great fighting spirit.
