It was a beautiful summer evening at Idrottsparken where GIF Sundsvall hosted Jönköpings Södra IF in a tight match in the Superettan. In front of a crowd of 2,449, the match kicked off with Kristoffer Karlsson as referee, assisted by Andreas Björkman and Fredrik Johansson.
GIF Sundsvall got off to a dream start as Fredrik Holster scored the first goal of the match just 5 minutes in. Jönköpings Södra IF struggled to create any real dangerous chances, and after 26 minutes, Tom Siwe was substituted for Jonas Svahn.
At halftime, it still looked like it would be a close match, but Jönköpings Södra IF substituted Ivo Vazgec for Niklas Appelros. Despite this, it was GIF Sundsvall who doubled their lead after 54 minutes with a goal from Pontus Engblom, assisted by David Myrestam.
