Ängelholm faced Hammarby at their home ground, Ängelholms IP, on Saturday afternoon. It was an important match for Ängelholm as they were in 3rd place in the league and wanted to maintain their position for the rest of the season. Hammarby, on the other hand, was in 12th place and needed a win to climb up the table.
The match started evenly, but Ängelholm had several dangerous chances, particularly through Jakob Augustsson and Robin Nilsson. Both players also received a yellow card during the match.
After an hour of play, Ängelholm made their first substitution, replacing Jonas Lindh with Lester Dewee. Hammarby responded quickly by substituting Max Forsberg for Sebastian Bojassén.
After 73 minutes, Bojassén received a yellow card, but just a few minutes later, he had a breakthrough. He scored the only goal of the match, giving Hammarby the lead.
Ängelholm tried to respond but couldn’t find their rhythm in the final minutes of the match. Instead, Hammarby’s Fadi Malke made a late substitution in the 84th minute, taking out Paulinho Guará.
The match ended with a victory for Hammarby, and Ängelholm lost at home for the first time since July. Ängelholm now needed to recover and prepare for the rest of the season, while Hammarby secured a much-needed win and ended the season in a better 11th place in the table.
