It was a lovely Saturday afternoon at Stora Valla when Degerfors IF faced IK Brage in a Superettan match in front of 1,234 spectators. The referee for the match was Nermin Cisic, assisted by Anders Böwing and Fredrik Klyver. The home team started the best, and just a minute in, they took the lead through Kwame Amponsah Karikari, assisted by Erik Nilsson. Degerfors continued to apply pressure, and in the ninth minute, they increased their lead thanks to Christopher Brandeborn, with an assist from Amadaiya Rennie. IK Brage attempted to get back into the match and substituted Peter Stenberg for Stefan Lindmark in the nineteenth minute. Brage's Dragan Kapcevic was cautioned in the 42nd minute, and Kwame Amponsah Karikari received a warning in the second minute of stoppage time in the first half.

However, IK Brage managed to reduce the deficit in the 53rd minute through Dragan Kapcevic, but just two minutes later, Christopher Brandeborn scored his second goal of the day, extending Degerfors' lead to 3-1. Johan Persson, however, had not said his last word and managed to reduce the score further for the away team in the 60th minute. Jesper Carlsson was substituted for Daniel Åkervall in the 71st minute to bring in more offensive power, but it was Degerfors who kept control, substituting Alexander Andersson for Amadaiya Rennie in the 76th minute. Brage's Martin Rosell was cautioned in the 73rd minute, and Niklas Sandberg also received a warning for the away team in the 84th minute. Daniel Björkman was substituted in for Jon Åslund in the 88th minute, but it was too late for IK Brage to make a comeback. Degerfors substituted Erik Nilsson for Ghandy Kassenu at the end of the match.

Degerfors IF ultimately won the match 3-2 against IK Brage. It was a well-executed match by both teams, and Degerfors was the better team that scored the crucial goals.
