IFK Värnamo secured an important victory at home on Finnvedsvallen when they faced Trelleborgs FF in the Superettan. Just four minutes into the match, Mohammed Abdulrahman scored 1-0 for the home team following a fine assist from Carlos Gaete Moggia. A quarter of an hour later, Jonathan Ring extended the lead to 2-0 with Vladica Zlojutro providing the pass.

Trelleborgs FF tried to find their way back into the match, but instead, Yousef Fakhro received a yellow card after 38 minutes. At halftime, the visitors attempted to make a change, substituting Tobias Mattsson for Dennis Melander, but it had little effect. Instead, Carlos Gaete Moggia received a yellow card for IFK Värnamo after 55 minutes, and Joel Löw was cautioned six minutes later.

After an hour of play, Fredrik Jensen was substituted out for Trelleborgs FF in favor of Matti Hiltunen, but it was IFK Värnamo who would score again. Jonathan Ring netted his second goal of the day after 71 minutes with an assist from Martin Claesson.

Trelleborgs FF substituted Tuomo Turunen in for Yousef Fakhro after 76 minutes, but it did not diminish IFK Värnamo's grip on the match. Abdul Rahman Khalili came on for Jonathan Ring after 81 minutes, while Elmin Kurbegovic replaced Joel Löw. Mohammed Abdulrahman was substituted out for Sebastian Göransson after 86 minutes, but it made no difference to the final score: IFK Värnamo won 3-0. Despite the victory, they remain second to last in the table, while Trelleborgs FF sits in 14th place.
