Halmstads BK showed character and a fighting effort as they turned a deficit into victory against league leaders Östers IF on Thursday evening. In front of 3,761 spectators at Örjans Vall, Östers IF started strong and took the lead as early as the 5th minute through Denis Velic. Alexander Henningsson doubled the lead to 0-2 in the 42nd minute, and it looked like Östers IF was heading toward yet another victory.

But just before halftime, Halmstads BK reduced the deficit through Christian Järdler, giving the team hope for the second half. This would prove to be a decisive goal, as Halmstads BK came out strong after the break and took control of the match. Antonio Rojas scored another goal to make it 2-2 in the 48th minute, assisted by Järdler.

Rojas found the net again just four minutes later, putting Halmstads BK ahead 3-2. Östers IF’s Hannes Berg was sent off due to a red card, and Östers IF began to push for an equalizer, but Halmstads BK managed to hold on and secure three important points.

Halmstads BK is now in second place in the table, while Östers IF remains at the top of the league. Referee Jim Petersson officiated the match excellently, which featured intense play and many goal-scoring opportunities.
