Jönköping Södra faced Falkenbergs FF in the final match of the Superettan season at Stadsparksvallen. The home team needed a victory to secure a spot among the top teams, while Falkenberg had little to fight for, aside from trying to end the season on a high note. However, it was Falkenberg that started the best, and in the fourth minute, Adam Eriksson scored with a precise shot from long distance, giving the away team a 1-0 lead.
After that shocking start, the home team tried to get back into the match but struggled to create any clear chances. Instead, Johan Bertilsson received a yellow card for a tough tackle. As the halftime break approached, the match became increasingly physical, and both teams received multiple bookings before the break.
At the beginning of the second half, Jönköping Södra was a completely different team, pressing high up the pitch. They created several goal-scoring opportunities, and after an hour of play, the coach brought in Daryl Smylie to add some pace on the wing. But Falkenberg managed to hold their ground, maintaining their lead until the 83rd minute when Johan Bertilsson found the net from close range after a great assist from Pär Cederquist.
The home team continued to push, and in the first minute of injury time, Andreas Tegström headed the ball into the goal after receiving a perfect pass from Cederquist. It was a goal that lifted Stadsparksvallen to new heights and sent Jönköping Södra to seventh place in the table, while Falkenberg finished the season in thirteenth place.
