Assyriska FF impressed in Sunday’s Superettan match against Örgryte IS at Södertälje Football Arena. With an audience of 2,263 people and Lars Olsson as the referee, the match started strongly for the home team.
In the sixth minute, Assyriska took the lead with a goal from Admir Aganovic, who received a beautiful pass from Christopher Brandeborn. Just two minutes later, Sotirios Papagiannopoulos extended the lead with a perfect through ball from Christer Youssef.
Örgryte fought to get back into the match, but Jakob Lindström received a yellow card in the 14th minute, which seemed to dampen the team’s momentum. Assyriska continued to pressure their opponents and made another substitution by bringing in Paul Ikechukwu Obiefule in the 19th minute.
In the 31st minute, Christopher Brandeborn also received a yellow card for a foul on Örgryte. The second half saw more substitutions from both teams, but Örgryte could not find the net.
In the 86th minute, Assyriska was awarded a free kick, which star player Admir Catovic took and stylishly slotted into the net, increasing the home team’s lead to 3-0. Stefan Batan assisted on the goal.
Assyriska won the match deservedly with a score of 3-0, leaving Örgryte empty-handed. Assyriska FF continued to impress by demonstrating a strong squad composition and fast, dangerous play, which undoubtedly pleased the fans in attendance.
