A real goal fest took place at Idrottsparken as GIF Sundsvall welcomed GAIS in the Superettan. The home team Sundsvall started the match strongly, and just three minutes in, Daniel Sliper scored, putting the ball behind the GAIS goalkeeper and marking his first goal of the day. Just two minutes later, Sliper netted again, and Sundsvall led 2-0. GAIS's defense looked quite shaky at the beginning of the match, and Calum Angus received an early yellow card.

After a quarter of an hour, Johan Eklund stepped up and made it 3-0 for Sundsvall after a nice pass from Sliper. GAIS appeared somewhat paralyzed, and the coach's substitution of Mohammed Abdulrahman didn’t immediately spark any new offensive plays.

In the second half, GAIS finally managed to gain some control of the match, with Joel Anell scoring a consolation goal for the team. Shortly after, Ari Freyr Skúlason from Sundsvall and Kenneth Gustafsson from GAIS each received a yellow card before Andreas Drugge scored for GAIS, narrowing the lead to just two goals.

Sundsvall's previously stable lead began to crack, and GAIS started to bite back. Anell scored the team's third goal after a nice pass from Patrik Wallin, and suddenly it was all tied up.

Sundsvall’s Daniel Sliper was substituted for Pa Amat Dibba in hopes of stabilizing an offense that had lost its flow in recent minutes. GAIS's Kenneth Gustafsson received a second yellow card and was sent off, but Sundsvall couldn’t take advantage of the numerical superiority and squandered several chances.

With just a few minutes left to play, Dibba picked up a ball and scored Sundsvall's fourth goal of the day. However, it was no guarantee that Sundsvall would secure the victory, as Joel Anell managed to complete his hat-trick by scoring GAIS's fourth and final goal in stoppage time. The match ended 4-4, and the crowd at Idrottsparken could breathe a sigh of relief after a dramatic game.
