Jönköping Södra IF turned the tables on Thursday evening and defeated Degerfors IF in an exciting match at Stadsparksvallen. Degerfors took the lead after 17 minutes of play with a goal from Amadaiya Rennie, who capitalized on a nice pass from Marcus Astvald. Jönköping struggled to find their rhythm in the match, and Daryl Smylie received a yellow card after 32 minutes, indicating some frustration within the team.

After half an hour of play, Jönköping substituted in Robert Gojani, which turned out to be a successful change. After 59 minutes, Michael Nanchoff equalized for the home team with help from a fine pass from Tommy Thelin. Just a few minutes later, Jönköping took the lead through Thelin, who received the ball from Gojani. The guests tried to put pressure on Jönköping but failed to score any more goals.

Jönköping controlled the game after 76 minutes when Gojani scored his second goal of the evening with yet another excellent pass from Thelin. The Gothenburg team went from strength to strength, culminating in Jesper Svensson sealing the night with Jönköping's fourth goal in stoppage time.

Jönköping can breathe a sigh of relief after an incredibly impressive battling performance. Degerfors will now need to regroup and refocus after a tough away loss. Jönköping's next match is away against Sundsvall, while Degerfors will host Öster in the next round.
