GIF Sundsvall hosted Ängelholms FF at home in the eighth round of Superettan. Just ten minutes into the match, the home team took the lead with a header from Johan Eklund, assisted by Robert Lundström. Only three minutes later, Eklund was in control again as he made it 2-0 following another pass from Lundström.

GIF Sundsvall continued to dominate the match, and in the 33rd minute, Runar Sigurjonsson scored to make it 3-0 after being assisted by Daniel Sliper. Just before halftime, Ängelholms FF substituted Monday Samuel in an effort to increase the tempo in their attack, which proved to be a wise decision. Just four minutes into the second half, Samuel reduced the score to 3-1.

However, GIF Sundsvall quickly responded to the goal, and in the 53rd minute, Daniel Sliper found the net after a clever play from Simon Helg. Once again, Ängelholms FF regrouped, and in the 60th minute, Michael Mocevic Baggner broke free and made it 4-2. But with only 20 minutes remaining, Ängelholms FF came to life, and within just ten minutes, they managed to reduce the score to 4-3 with two goals from Monday Samuel, both assisted beautifully by Othman El Kabir.

Despite Ängelholms FF's late surge, they were unable to score again, and GIF Sundsvall could finally breathe a sigh of relief as they secured three very important points at home at Idrottsparken, in front of a crowd of 2,536. The referee, Dragan Banjac, along with his assistants Christian Andersson and Dragan Markulic, had little to do as the match went on without major incidents, except for a warning to Ängelholms FF's Jakob Augustsson.
