Jönköpings Södra IF made a remarkable comeback on Monday evening when they hosted Degerfors IF at their home ground, Stadsparksvallen. A tight and exciting match started with an early goal from the visiting Degerfors IF. Peter Samuelsson scored after just 20 minutes, and the lead held until the 49th minute when Tommy Thelin equalized for the home team.

However, Degerfors quickly responded again as Patrik Anttonen found the net for the visitors in the 62nd minute. But Jönköping showed they had more to give, and Daryl Smylie equalized just four minutes later. He would later score again to make it 3-2 after 70 minutes of play, with an assist from Robert Gojani.

But Smylie wasn't satisfied with just two goals and completed his hat trick after 81 minutes of the match, assisted by Ronny Sabo. In a last-minute move, Carlos Garcia Ambrosiani came on as a substitute for Jönköping, replacing Fredric Fendrich. The visitors tried to respond with two substitutions, but to no avail. The match ended 4-2 in favor of Jönköpings Södra IF after a strong performance by the star player Daryl Smylie. The attendance was 2,105, and the referee's final whistle marked the end of an exciting Monday night in Superettan.
