In Monday evening's Superettan match, Ljungskile SK faced GAIS at Skarsjövallen in front of an audience of 1,787. The referee Johan Krantz and his assistants Robin Wilde and Niklas Nyberg officiated the match.

Just eight minutes in, GAIS received a warning after a tough tackle from Linus Tornblad. However, it would be another 12 minutes before the next event in the match. Ljungskile's Hannes Stiller scored the first goal of the match with a header following an assist from Jakob Olsson.

Ljungskile then extended their lead in the 32nd minute when Ken Sema made it 2-0 on a pass from Markus Gustafsson. GAIS substituted Johan Lundgren and Linus Tornblad at halftime, bringing on Petrit Zhubi and Adam Eriksson.

GAIS then began their pursuit to close the gap that Ljungskile had created. They reduced the deficit in the 62nd minute when Adam Eriksson found the back of the net following a pass from Malkolm Moenza. Just four minutes later, it was time again as Reuben Ayarna equalized at 2-2.

Ljungskile decided to make two substitutions to try to regain their footing in the match, with Allan Mohideen and Admir Bajrovic coming on for Jonas Lindberg and Ahmed El Amrani in the 70th and 80th minutes, respectively.

GAIS received a warning in the 82nd minute when Sandip Mankoo made a tough tackle. Ljungskile made a final substitution when Robin Iglicar replaced Ken Sema in the 83rd minute.

The drama of the match culminated in the 90th minute when GAIS's Emil Eliasson was substituted in for Sandip Mankoo in a last desperate attempt for a goal. However, it would be Ljungskile that drove the final nail in the coffin. Aleksandar Kitic scored the winning goal, making it 3-2 in stoppage time, and then received a warning for his celebration. The match ended with a 3-2 victory for Ljungskile SK.
