Halmstad had home advantage at Örjans Vall when they faced Trelleborgs FF in a match that both teams needed to win to climb higher in the table. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon, and the audience had come to the arena hoping to see an exciting and high-scoring match. They would not be disappointed.

Already after two minutes, Halmstad opened the scoring through Alexander Ruud Tveter, who was able to redirect the ball in after a great pass. Trelleborgs FF tried to respond but struggled to create any real dangerous chances.

With just over half an hour played, Halmstad managed a great counter-attack where Fredrik Olsson could extend the lead to 2-0 after receiving the ball from Andreas Bengtsson. Trelleborgs FF tried to create something but was unlucky when Magnus Andersson received a yellow card just before halftime.

Halmstad continued to be the better team in the second half and was able to seal the match during injury time of the first half. Sead Haksabanovic scored the penalty after being brought down in the penalty area.

After the goal, the pace of the game slowed a bit, and both teams made some substitutions. Despite Trelleborgs FF trying to push for a goal to reduce the deficit, Halmstad held firm, and referee Antti Kanerva blew the final whistle.

Halmstad thus won 3-0 in front of a satisfied home crowd of 3,850 people. The victory meant that they climbed to ninth place in the table, while Trelleborgs FF had to accept the defeat and slipped down to eleventh place.
