The match started at Södertälje Football Arena in front of an audience of 791 people. Referee Robert Daradic and his assistant referees Anders Böwing and Mesud Broström Kahrimanovic held the reins as Syrianska FC faced GAIS in Superettan.

It was Syrianska FC that took the lead already in the 7th minute, when Georg Makdesie found the net after a pass from Victor Wernersson. GAIS tried to get back into the match and made a substitution in the 45th minute, when Andreas Petersson came on for Dusan Djuric.

But it wasn't until the 70th minute that GAIS managed to equalize through Carl Elfgren. However, the joy was short-lived for GAIS as Syrianska FC regained the lead just five minutes later through Seth Hellberg.
