IF Brommapojkarna secured an important victory at their home ground Grimsta IP 1 when they faced GAIS in the Superettan on Saturday afternoon. The home team led the table, and this match was no exception, even though GAIS fought hard to try to turn the game around.
Kevin Kabran opened the scoring for Brommapojkarna in the 24th minute, with an assist from Johan Falkmar. Joel Qviberg then received a yellow card for the home team in the 36th minute. GAIS substituted Emin Grozdanic for Alexander Leksell in the 45th minute, just a few minutes before referee Robert Daradic issued a yellow card to James Sinclair of GAIS.
Erik Figueroa then increased the lead for Brommapojkarna in the 60th minute with a free-kick goal. Jacob Ortmark came on for Tim Waker for the home team two minutes later, while Ajdin Zeljkovic replaced Dusan Djuric for GAIS in the 65th minute.
However, GAIS found a way back into the match in the 68th minute when Luka Mijaljevic scored, making the game exciting again. Jack Lahne was substituted in for Christopher Brandeborn for Brommapojkarna in the 79th minute, while GAIS brought in Alibek Aliev for Malkolm Moenza in the 82nd minute.
But Brommapojkarna struck again in the 84th minute when Viktor Gyökeres scored, with an assist from Markus Gustafsson, making it the home team’s third goal. GAIS did not give up and continued to fight, with Mijaljevic scoring a penalty for GAIS in the 86th minute. Besard Sabovic made way for Kyle Konwea in the 88th minute.
When the referee blew the whistle to end the match, the score was 3-2 in favor of Brommapojkarna. It was a much-needed victory for the home team, who now continue to lead the table with 28 points. GAIS remains in tenth place with 15 points.
